Taxpayer inquiries to the Assessor’s Office may be made in person, by telephone, or by email.  All emailed questions may be submitted to eAssessor@kentwood.us, someone will respond within 7 business days. If you have questions for a specific employee, please review our Assessing Team page for their contact information.  In-person inquiries can be made at Kentwood City Hall, 4900 Breton Road, Kentwood, MI 49508, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursday between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm, on Tuesdays from 7:30 am to 6 pm, and on Fridays from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm. Inquiries made by mail should be addressed to : Kentwood Assessor, PO Box 8848, Kentwood, MI 49518-8848.

Requests to inspect or obtain copies of tax records maintained by the Assessor’s Office should be submitted in writing to the Assessor’s Office via email or letter, please include the parcel address, parcel number if available, the tax year, specific records sought, your name, address, telephone number, and email address if you wish to receive the records electronically.  Depending on the scope of information you may be required to submit a FOIA Request.

Any informal disputes concerning property assessments for the preceding year may be sent via email or letter to the Assessor’s Office prior to March 1st.  If you would like to formally appeal your assessment, please review the Board of Review section of our website.
