The Kentwood Police Department has launched a new public feedback opportunity to enhance its customer service and community engagement. Beginning Sept. 20, community members who interact with the police department will receive a customer service survey via text message between 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. 24 hours following a call for service for a non-life-threatening incident. The survey will include three questions asking for a rating between 1-5 and a fourth question inviting a typed comment. There will also be a link at the end to send an email about your experience with department personnel. The Kentwood Police Department has a number of opportunities for citizens to volunteer their time and skills. If you are interested in serving as a Volunteer in Policing, you are encouraged to contact our Volunteer Coordinator at (616)-656-6571. Because the Police Department relies on tax revenues to fund its operations, we normally do not solicit funds from residents. However, the Department does operate a number of special programs and, at other times, has special funding needs.
