A person involved in a traffic crash may obtain a copy of the crash report at the Kentwood Justice Center, 4742 Walma Avenue SE, Monday through Friday during normal business hours, 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. A $6.00 fee is assessed for the report.
You may obtain a copy of your own City of Kentwood arrest record by coming in to the Kentwood Police Department. The fee for this service is $6.00 (cash or check only). Please note that only Kentwood records are checked. You may obtain a copy of your criminal history convictions in the State of Michigan by calling (517)-322-1956.

Public sex offender registry information may be obtained on the Internet by going to http://www.mipsor.state.mi.us/mipsor/default.htm. This web site will allow you to inquire by zip code or a specific name. Police departments also maintain a printed copy that may be viewed during normal business hours.
Expunging a crime conviction from a criminal history is a legal process that requires an attorney to petition the court. You should consult with an attorney to determine if your conviction may be expunged.
We offer fingerprinting cards and livescan fingerprinting for employment. The charge for fingerprint cards is $15.00 cash or check only. For livescan fingerprints, it is $58.25 cash or check only. Please note that we fingerprint Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, during normal business hours 9:00am to 4:30pm. Requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) may be done in the following ways:
IN PERSON:

Please note that any requests submitted electronically or in person after 3:00 PM will be considered "received" the next business day.
When making a request for a police report, please be as complete and thorough as possible to ensure that your request is processed in a timely manner. Your FOIA request will be completed within five (5) business days of receipt. If we cannot complete your request within that time frame, you will receive a notice of extension in which we will have up to another ten (10) business days to complete your request.
Any report released from the Kentwood Police Department will have the following items redacted:
- Social Security Number
- Street address and apartment numbers
- Middle names
- Dates of birth
- All Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) information
- Drivers license numbers
- Phone numbers
- Juvenile information
- Non-public information
ASSOCIATED FEES:
The fees for research, redaction, duplication and mailing are based on actual cost. Redaction time is charged at a rate of $31.35 per hour, rounded down to the nearest 15 minute period. All documents are printed double-sided unless specifically requested otherwise. Any documents requested for "review only" are subject to all costs incurred to produce a redacted document.
