City of Kentwood’s Play in the Park Program Goes Mobile

Community Program Adapts to Improve Children’s Access to Outdoor Activities

The City of Kentwood’s Play in the Park program is transforming into a mobile program this summer to increase access to outdoor activities for children across the community.

Play in the Park is a free program offered weekdays June 17 to Aug. 9, with each session at a different park or community space. The program is open to children ages 7 to 15 and invites them to participate in engaging outdoor activities and games.

“We’re delighted to bring a mobile version of Play in the Park to various areas of our community,” said Lori Gresnick, recreation program coordinator. “This exciting change will help us reach more kids and encourage them to be outside and active during their summer break.”

The weekly schedule of Play in the Park is:

The program offers a variety of activities directed by Kentwood Parks and Recreation staff, including games, art projects, nature activities and much more. Registration is not required – drop-in participation is encouraged. Please note: This is not a day care program.
