Looking to improve your culinary skills or check out the Kentwood Activities Center’s newly renovated kitchen? Sign up for our fall cooking classes, where you'll be able to use the brand new commercial grade equipment and work with experienced chefs.

Kids in the Kitchen – Kids in the Kitchen is for participants ages 8 and older. Our expert chefs pass on their knowledge to help community youngsters become skilled and independent in the kitchen. Kids will learn how to create a new dish each week.
  • Wednesdays, Oct. 3-Nov. 21
  • 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Make a Great Chili Learn how to make a flavorful chili with easy-to-find ingredients and master a basic cornbread recipe to pair with it.
  • Thursday, Oct. 4
  • 6 to 8 p.m.
Make a great Soupe à l'oignon (French onion soup) This class covers how to add just the right ingredients with caramelized onions to create a delicious French onion soup. Participants also learn how to create a cheese/bread crouton to bring the soup to a new level.
  • Saturday, Oct. 20
  • 10 a.m. to noon
Homemade Pie Making – Explore the art of pie making in this class. Participants will take home two delicious pies.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 6
  • 6 to 8 p.m.
Pizza Pizzazz – Put some pizzazz in your pizza! This pizza-themed class will feature an appetizer, entrée and dessert. Pizza-making ingredients and beverages will be included.

  • 6-8 p.m.
All classes take place at the Kentwood Activities Center (355 48th St SE). Cost varies by class. Those interested can register online.
