Power Wheels Derby

Department of Public Works (5068 Breton SE)
Welcome to Kentwood's very first Power Wheels Derby! Children ages 1-7 are invited to ride their personal stock "Power Wheels" vehicle and compete in a friendly race around a multi-terrain course set up on the grounds of our Department of Public Works facility. All vehicles must be stock - absolutely no modifications allowed. All participants must wear a helmet. 
Cost $10 per racer

The Vibe: A Fundraiser for Kentwood Parks & Recreation

Kentwood Library (4950 Breton SE)

Join us for the sixth annual celebration and fundraiser to further enhance Kentwood’s adaptive recreation programs. The fun-filled backyard party will include cocktails, dinner, silent auction, adaptive equipment displays, yard games, and live music featuring the Moonshot Band.   Funds raised at this year’s event will go towards purchasing equipment for our adaptive recreation programs.

Kentwood Glow in the Park

Pinewood (1999 Wolfboro Dr. SE)
Celebrate the fall and light up the night with a glow event and fun run! Taking place at Pinewood Park, this event will feature a variety of glow-themed activities including light up playground games and crafts, music, food and a .3-1.0 Mile Fun Run/Walk. The park path will be lit with glow sticks and other colorful lights. The evening will conclude with an after-party with music, dancing, and snacks under the park shelter.

Join us for the sixth annual South Kent Community Expo! Explore the products and services from over 50 businesses within the community. The expo will also feature health screenings, flu shots, door prizes, and free food!  Admission is free and open to the general public.  For vendor information please call (616) 656-5270.

Fall Fling @ Old Farm - Doubles Disc Golf Tournament

Join us for a doubles disc golf tournament at Old Farm Park! Bring your own partner. Best shot doubles tournament. Open to any skill level. All food items donated will go to The Little Free Pantry. Each participant will receive a player package at check-in with many opportunities for extra prizes during the tournament.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

Kentwood Library (4950 Breton SE)
Join us at a our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! The event takes place in front of the Kentwood Library starting with the holiday light parade. There will also be carriage rides, kid’s crafts, holiday music, and of course a visit from Santa! We will be accepting non-perishable food donations for our Little Free Pantry to help us through the winter season.

Valentine's Dash 5k

Kentwood Library (4950 Breton SE)
This race will get you outside to enjoy a combination of trails and roads in Kentwood. Race will begin and end at the Kentwood Library (4950 Breton Rd SE). This course is great for first-time runners or walkers but will also provide a challenge to more experienced runners. This race is perfect for running with your sweet heart, soul mate, BFF or to meet someone new! Kids and families are welcome. The fastest runners will be awarded after the event. Everyone is encouraged to wear their best Valentine themed costumes but it's not required. Runners will receive a long sleeve shirt and other goodies in their participant packets.
Cost $25 per person until 12/31,  $30 per person from 1/1-2/10,  $35 per person on race day 2/11
