Kentwood Glow in the Park

Veterans Memorial Park (355 48th St SE)
Celebrate the fall and light up the night with a glow event and fun run! Taking place at Veterans Memorial Park, this event will feature a variety of glow-themed activities including light up playground games and crafts, music, food and a .25-1.0 Mile Fun Run/Walk. The park path will be lit with glow sticks and other colorful lights. The evening will conclude with an after-party with music, dancing, and snacks under the park shelter.
Cost Cost: $5 per person for basic event registration, includes glow supplies; $15 event t-shirt

Kentwood Police Recruitment Event

The Kentwood Police Department will host a recruitment event from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at the Kentwood Police Department, 4742 Walma Ave. SE. Individuals who are interested in a career in law enforcement are invited to learn more about the department and each of its units, tour the department and talk to current team members. The event will highlight the sponsored police recruit position as well as other employment opportunities.

Join us for the seventh annual South Kent Community Expo! Explore the products and services from over 50 businesses within the community. Fall Fling @ Old Farm - Doubles Disc Golf Tournament

Old Farm Park (2350 Embro Dr SE)
Join us for a doubles disc golf tournament at Old Farm Park! Bring your own partner. Best shot doubles tournament. Open to any skill level. All food items donated will go to The Little Free Pantry. Each participant will receive a player package at check-in with many opportunities for extra prizes during the tournament.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

Kentwood Library (4950 Breton SE)
Join us at a our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! The event takes place in front of the Kentwood Library starting with the holiday light parade. There will also be take-home crafts for kids, holiday music, and of course a visit from Santa! We will be accepting non-perishable food donations for our Little Free Pantry to help us through the winter season.

Frozen Frenzy Fat Tire Relay

Covenant Park, 3724 Shaffer Ave. SE
Join us for our fat tire relay race at Covenant Park! Bikers will ride a 2-mile loop for 90-minutes in either 2-person or 4-person teams. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest teams in each group that complete the most number of laps. Race will conclude with an after party and awards ceremony.
Cost $30 until 12/22, $35 per person from 12/23-1/19, $40 day of race

Rumor has it the Yeti has been spotted once again! This time he's been seen at Covenant Park with two other friends! Kids and families are invited to join us for our Flashlight Yeti Hunt on Friday, January 26 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Grab a flashlight and search for clues along a 1-mile walking path and see if you can find the Yeti! At the end of your hunt, be sure to stop inside the clubhouse for warm drinks, light refreshments, and a photo opportunity with the Yeti! Cost is $7 per family. Fairy Tale Formal

Kids are invited to bring their dads, moms, grandparents, or other relative as their guest to our Fairy Tale Formal! This magical and mystical evening will be full of dancing, crafts, activities, snacks, refreshments, and a photo booth! Be on the lookout for unicorns, mermaids, dragons, and fairies! This event is very popular; all attendees MUST pre-register and pay ahead of time. Cost is $10 per person.

Valentine's Dash 5k

Kentwood Library (4950 Breton SE)
This race will get you outside to enjoy a combination of trails and roads in Kentwood. Race will begin and end at the Kentwood Library (4950 Breton Rd SE). This course is great for first-time runners or walkers but will also provide a challenge to more experienced runners. This race is perfect for running with your sweet heart, soul mate, BFF or to meet someone new! Kids and families are welcome. The fastest runners will be awarded after the event. Everyone is encouraged to wear their best Valentine themed costumes but it's not required. Runners will receive a long sleeve shirt and other goodies in their participant packets.
Cost $30 per person until 1/19, $35 per person from 1/20-2/09,  $40 per person on race day 2/10

Join the City of Kentwood on Saturday, Feb. 24 for a Unity Walk to honor Black History Month and the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. Residents are invited to gather at the food court at Woodland Mall, 3195 28th St SE, at 11 a.m. for a walk, which will end in front of Von Maur at 11:30 a.m.
