Limb Loss Awareness 5k

Bowen Station Park (4499 Bowen Blvd)

Kentwood Parks and Recreation is teaming up with Hanger Clinic to offer our annual Limb Loss Awareness 5k on Saturday, April 24! This family friendly event is designed to be a fundraiser for Kentwood Parks and Recreation’s Adaptive Recreation Programs. All profits will be channeled towards improving and offering more programs for people with physical disabilities. The race will take place on the beautiful East West and Paul Henry Trails. All abilities are welcome to participate! Race will start and end at Bowen Station Park, 4499 Bowen Blvd SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. We will also be having a kid’s 1 miles fun run!  Kids will receive a t-shirt and ribbon. 

Cost $30 per person from 3/16-4/5,  $35 per person from 4/6-4/23, $40 per person on race day 4/24

Kentwood Arbor Day Celebration

Veterans Memorial Park (355 48th St SE)
Join us for our Arbor Day Celebration! We will kick things off with an Arbor Day proclamation, followed by a tree planting at the Veterans Memorial Park. The City of Kentwood will be distributing 300 tree seedlings to community members. Seedlings will be available for pick up at the Kentwood Activities Center and at City Hall. The Arbor Day event will conclude our Earth Day festivities, which include a garlic mustard pull in collaboration with Kent County Parks and a park cleanup with Kentwood Park Stewards.

Spotlight on Seniors Expo

Kentwood Library Courtyard (4950 Breton SE)

The Kentwood and Georgetown Seniors invite you to join them at the 22nd Annual Spotlight On Seniors Expo outdoors in the Kentwood Library Courtyard.  Seniors and community members will be able to visit over 50 vendors from a variety of community businesses, receive free health screenings and maybe even win a door prize!  Enjoy FREE morning snacks and FREE lunch!  If interested in becoming a vendor, contact Lorraine at (616)656-5278.

Bark for the Park

Kellogg Woods Park (275 Kellogg Woods Park Dr SE)
Support this dog-friendly fundraiser at Kentwood's dog park! Bring your pup to this free event to explore local pet vendors and enjoy music and food from El Jalapeno food truck. Donations will be accepted throughout the event to raise funds for new amenities at the dog park. Attendees will receive a doggie bag with dog treats and other goodies to take home.

Grab a blanket or chair and join us on the lawn behind Kentwood City Hall for our Summer Concert Series! Concerts take place on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30pm and feature a variety of food trucks.
