Kentwood Turkey Trail

Paul Henry Trail between 44th St and 52nd St
Gobble gobble! Kentwood Parks and Recreation is bringing back the Kentwood Turkey Trail again this year with a new location! We'll hide 9 turkeys along the Paul Henry Trail between 44th St. and 52nd St. Get outside and check it out from November 18-28 to see if you can spot all 9 turkeys hidden along the path. Take a selfie with your favorite turkey, share on Facebook and use the tag #KentwoodTurkeyTrail or email your picture to eRecreation@kentwood.us to be entered to win a fun prize! Parking is available at Bowen Station Park located at 4499 Bowen Blvd SE.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

Kentwood Library (4950 Breton SE)
Join us at a our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! The event takes place in front of the Kentwood Library starting with the holiday light parade. There will also be carriage rides, take-home crafts for kids, holiday music, and of course a visit from Santa! We will be accepting non-perishable food donations for our Little Free Pantry to help us through the winter season.

Letters to Santa

Kentwood City Hall (4900 Breton SE) and Kentwood Activities Center (355 48th St SE)
This holiday season, Santa Claus has asked for our help collecting children’s letters for him. From Dec. 1 through Dec. 17, children can write letters to Santa and bring them to the “Letters to Santa” mailbox at Kentwood City Hall, 4900 Breton Ave. SE, or the Kentwood Activities Center, 355 48th St. SE. Letters can also be mailed to Santa’s attention to: P.O. Box 8448, Kentwood, MI 49518. There will also be an opportunity to hand-deliver your letters to Santa at the Tree Lighting event on Thursday, December 1.  All letters will then be forwarded to the North Pole for a response from Santa – be sure to include your return address! Look for more details on our website at kentwood.us/letterstosanta.

Kentwood Winter Walk

East Paris Nature Park, 5995 East Paris Ave SE
Explore East Paris Nature Park (5995 E. Paris Ave SE) and search for over a dozen whimsical winter items hidden along the trails and boardwalk! A checklist of items will be found at the entrance of the park. Take a selfie with your finds and share on Facebook with the tag #KentwoodWinterWalk or email your picture to eRecreation@Kentwood.us to be entered to win a fun prize! The trail distance is .75-1.0 miles including the boardwalks.

Winter Concert Series

Kentwood Library (4950 Breton SE)

Our Winter Concert Series returns with music from Melissa Dylan (1/19), the Kevin Brewster Trio (2/16), and Lighting Matches (3/16).  Concerts take place inside the Community Room at the Kentwood Library at 6:30 p.m. Guests are welcomed to bring their own beer, wine, or beverage to enjoy at the show. Each concert will also have a food truck outside. Get out of the house and join us at the Kentwood Library for winter evening fun!

This time he's been seen near 60th St and East Paris Ave. Kids and families are invited to join us for our Flashlight Yeti Hunt at East Paris Nature Park on Friday, January 27. Daddy Daughter Dance

Kids are invited to bring their dads, moms, grandparents, or other relative as their "date" to our Valentine's themed dance! Refreshments & snacks will be served. There will also be a craft activity, photo area, and DJ playing fun music. Cost is $10 per person.

Valentine's Dash 5k

Kentwood Library (4950 Breton SE)
This race will get you outside to enjoy a combination of trails and roads in Kentwood. Race will begin and end at the Kentwood Library (4950 Breton Rd SE). This course is great for first-time runners or walkers but will also provide a challenge to more experienced runners. This race is perfect for running with your sweet heart, soul mate, BFF or to meet someone new! Kids and families are welcome. The fastest runners will be awarded after the event. Everyone is encouraged to wear their best Valentine themed costumes but it's not required. Runners will receive a long sleeve shirt and other goodies in their participant packets.
Cost $25 per person until 12/31,  $30 per person from 1/1-2/10,  $35 per person on race day 2/11
